Since 1998, an annual festival called the Boryeong Mud Festival has taken place in South Korea.

This festival is exactly what it sounds like. For ten days revellers from around the world bathe, throw and roll in mud pools. Sounds fun, but not if you’re the one cleaning up after everyone else.

It’s strange that ‪Hungary‬’s most revered object, the Holy Crown, is topped with a wonky cross. The cross was straight until the 1600s when it was damaged by the lid of an iron chest closing on it. They must like the jaunty angle or they’d repair it!

The village of Giethoorn in the Netherlands is a rather beautiful place, and rather unique compared to modern standards. Residents and tourists can only get around via bike, with thanks to the new cycle paths, or the more popular choice of boat.
